Damsel

Damsel, Netflix’s newest fantasy movie, has begun streaming on the platform. The movie follows a young woman who agrees to marry a charming prince, only to realize it’s all a trap. She is thrown into a cave with a fire-breathing dragon and must rely on her cunning and determination to survive.

What follows is The Good, The Bad, and NO Spoilers of Damsel.

The Good

Damsel presents an original fantasy survival story, with Millie Bobby Brown delivering an outstanding performance as a princess unafraid to take bold actions for her survival. The set design and visuals perfectly capture the essence of a traditional fantasy film, meeting expectations for an immersive and captivating experience.

The Bad

I had only one notable issue while watching the film. There are several scenes where Brown's character encounters the ghosts of previous princesses who were sacrificed. These visions felt somewhat out of place, and the film never fully clarifies whether they are merely figments of her imagination or if actual spirits inhabit the caves.

My Overall Opinion

I give Damsel a surprising 8 out of 10.
