Kung Fu Panda 4

Po the panda returned to theaters this weekend in the newest Kung Fu Panda installment, Kung Fu Panda 4. When Po is selected to become the spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace, he must train a new warrior. However, things take a turn when a powerful shape-shifting sorceress targets his Staff of Wisdom, forcing Po to realize he can't do it alone. Joining forces with a clever corsac fox, Po soon learns that heroes can emerge from the most unlikely of places.

What follows is The Good, The Bad, and NO Spoilers of Kung Fu Panda 4.

The Good

Kung Fu Panda 4 continues to deliver the same family-friendly charm that made the first three films so popular. Kids will love this movie just as much as they loved the first 3 films. Awkwafina’s portrayal of Zhen is a standout, offering a strong performance that complements Jack Black’s Po effortlessly.

The Bad

Unfortunately,  Kung Fu Panda 4 comes across as a commercial effort by DreamWorks to capitalize on the popularity of the beloved panda character. The storyline feels lackluster and predictable, with Po’s "dads" embarking on their own adventure serving as a filler that adds little to the already struggling plot. Zhen's betrayal and subsequent redemption arc is overly predictable and lacks the emotional depth needed to make it feel genuine.

My Overall Opinion

I give Kung Fu Panda 4 a 4 out of 10.
